70 years ago

US General Douglas MacArthur - who guided the US war effort in the Asia Pacific region from his war room in Brisbane - arrived in Brisbane 70 years ago today.

  2. Australia and the US had a great working/fighting relationship in WWII, but I am not a MacArthur fan. He was a self absorbed man who left Gen Wainwright to save his own ass and received a MOH for doing it. After the war he wouldn't even talk to Wainwright. A total self-promoter and one to take the credit for others hard work and sacrifice.
